"Can I get your recipe?" This question is a true compliment to any cook. I think most people would agree that when they find something they really like, they want to know the secret so they can enjoy it again. We usually think of recipes in terms of food. I know I cherish certain family recipes for tried-and-true dishes we have enjoyed through the years. My mother and my Aunt Gail have put together several cookbooks and these are a true treasure.
I recently thought about recipes in a different way. Not long ago, I heard a wonderful sermon entitled, “The Recipe for Joy.” That sermon got my attention and caused me to think about times when we seek after recipes for things other than food. Joy seems to be something many people today are looking for, and in our current culture, it seems few live their lives with joy. The Bible says in Nehemiah 8:10 that the joy of the Lord is our strength. The source of our joy is Jesus.
Often, I have found people are looking for a recipe to help in an area of their life that is causing concern. Sometimes this trouble is a physical challenge, sometimes an emotional battle, and other times it may be a mental hurdle they are struggling with. JoyCARE helps our clients by providing a recipe for living life to the fullest. Our primary goal is to help maximize the independence and the quality of life in those we serve. We help our clients step by step follow a recipe to help them meet their individual goals.
