History is Lunch: Rick Cleveland and Bailey Howell

Today's History is Lunch was a discussion between Rick Cleveland and Bailey Howell entitled "12 Years in the NBA." Bailey Howell is a Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame member and 12 year NBA veteran. He played basketball at Mississippi State and led the team to a 64-14 record during his three years as a starter. His career averages of 27.1 points and 17 rebounds are still school records.

History is Lunch is held each Wednesday at noon at the Two Museums. It is free to attend.

MS Blues Marathon - Great Event

I walked the 5k portion of the MS Blues Marathon this past Saturday. It was a great event. The downtown Jackson area is such a nice, walkable area. I just wish things were where the downtown area could attract and keep things. It has so much potential.

    The Secret History of Home Economics at History is Lunch

    At this week's History is Lunch, Danielle Dreilinger spokes on the Secret History of Home Economics. It was interesting! We all have a stereotypical view of home economics being something like a 1950's housewife. However, the speaker's presentation showed that it is anything but. History is Lunch takes place each Wednesday at the Two Mississippi Museums at 12:00 noon and is free to the public.

    Game of Change, 1963

    Retired Professor Larry Lee spoke at the MC Law Alumni lunch today on his experience as part of the 1963 Mississippi State basketball team that played in the Game of Change. He and the other surviving members of that team were honored in Starkville recently.
