"The Preventorium" at History is Lunch
At History is Lunch last week, Susan Annah Currie spoke on her memoir, "The Preventorium." I had no idea what a Preventorium was before attending Currie's presentation. Preventoriums existed to ward off tuberculosis in children thought to be at risk to contract it. The Mississippi Preventorium existed 1929-1976. I'm looking forward to reading Currie's book and learning more.
