Visitation was held on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Graveside services were held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Mendenhall Cemetery. Bro. Earl Clark officiated. Catherine Powell Klipple, age 99, died peacefully on the evening of December 24, 2025, at The Arbor in Ridgeland. She was born in Jackson, to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Frith Powell (Pearl McInnis) on August 18, 1926.
She lived most of her life in Jackson, graduating from Central High School in 1944. She subsequently earned a BA in mathematics from Millsaps College and an MS in biostatistics from Columbia University School of Public Health in New York. Throughout her adult life, she took many Millsaps Enrichment classes and frequently attended Friday Forums.
