Dr. Glen Curtiss Warren, aged 94, died on December 18, 2025, at River Oaks Hospital in Jackson, a hospital that he co-founded. Glen was born on November 2, 1931, in D’Lo to Amanda Warren and Leonard Warren during the Great Depression. His father was fascinated with airplanes, so he named his son after Glenn Curtiss, the aviation pioneer, and dropped one of the ‘n’s’. Glen’s humble early years were spent working hard on his family’s small farm during World War II, while many of the men were away in the military.

Christmas is a time of honoring and celebrating the birth of the Christ Child; a season of joy, love and togetherness. It can also be a time of laughter and telling old family stories. And with that thought I can’t help but remember one Christmas Eve many moons back when the Boggan family was in Colorado.

Northsiders are understandably disturbed by the recent breaking developments regarding Santa Claus and the North Pole.
In a fiery press conference today, President Grump lashed into Santa Claus calling the whole chimney and reindeer thing “fake news” and slapping 100 percent tariffs on the North Pole.
Sun sources told us President Grump was reacting to reports that the President was placed on the naughty list for a wide range of bad behaviors.

We traditionally host a Christmas Eve dinner for family, a few friends and neighbors. Every year, we have a theme to “celebrate” during the dinner. Our theme dictates our menu and I find it easier to narrow down my menu for the evening.

On the day that I wrote this article I wasn’t quite sure where my inspiration would come from. There are the happy holidays that seem like the obvious thing to write about. It seems like everything that can be said about that has already been said. Next week, the week of Christmas, I will write about some of the places I have spent some of my Christmas days in the past. We are decorated and plan to have the entire family together for Christmas Eve brunch. My family has grown so much this year with both of our children getting married and my nieces and nephews having babies.

Douglas Holtz-Eakin probably isn’t sitting at the popular table of today’s Washington Republicans because he worked for President George W. Bush two decades ago.
In 2001-02 he was the chief economist of Bush’s Council of Economic Advisers, and from 2003-05 he was director of the Congressional Budget Office. He also was the chief economic policy adviser for Sen. John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign, which further excludes him from influence with President Trump’s people.
