In a moving ceremony filled with gratitude, reverence, and celebration, Rev. Dr. Clifton Jackson, President and Founder of the Lillie Mae Jackson Scholarship Foundation, presented special awards recognizing faithful Christian service to Pastor Rev. Dr. John Allen and his wife, Mrs. Cathy Allen, of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Benton.
The presentation took place inside the Galilee MB Church sanctuary, where church members, family, and community leaders gathered to honor the couple’s many years of dedicated ministry and commitment to Christian education.

Milton Benjamin (“Ben”) Roach, age 58, passed from this life into the next while at home on March 15, 2026. He was born in Jackson on October 6, 1967, as the fourth child and youngest son of John M. Roach and Nancy S. Roach. He grew up in Jackson and attended school at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School from Pre-K through sixth grade and then attended Jackson Preparatory School from the seventh through the 12th grade, graduating in the spring of 1986.

The JYC Foundation is a non-profit promoting community sailing and swimming on the reservoir. The foundation’s mission places emphasis on youth sailing and swimming, to train the next generation.
